I used an ATMega8L as microcontroller, and a BMP085 pressure sensor (in form of the JeeLab pressureplug) for this project. As I had not much time to spare, I refrained from creating an Eagle-Layout for the variometer.

• plays different sounds when you are rising/falling
• display shows information like z-velocity and height
• approximates current height based upon pressure
• saves maximum reached height during flight
